Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), a world leader in high-performance analog, mixed signal and embedded signal processing solutions, will showcase innovative patient monitoring solutions and vital sign monitoring technology for the healthcare industry at DesignMED 2012. ADI's booth is located at Hall 2, Stand 2211. The demonstrations at the ADI booth will include:

  • Electrocardiography (ECG) Analog Front End (AFE): The ADAS1000 has been designed for both monitor and diagnostic quality ECG measurements. It consists of five electrode inputs and a dedicated right leg drive (RLD) output reference electrode. Cascading multiple ADAS1000 devices allows scaling of the system to a true 12-lead or 15-lead measurement or beyond. In addition to the essential elements of monitoring ECG signals, the ADAS1000 includes functionality such as respiration measurement (thoracic impedance measurement), pace artifact detection, lead/electrode connection status, and internal calibration features. The device can be optimized through software to meet diagnostic performance levels or extend battery life as required in Holter or portable ECG applications.
  • Wireless Vital Sign Monitoring Demonstration Platform: This demonstration platform has been developed specifically for body worn sensing and home healthcare applications with low power, small form factor, and wireless data communications support priorities. It demonstrates the feasibility and ease of development of vital sign monitoring and motion sensing applications. ADI's latest MEMS accelerometer and ECG AFE are used with the ADuCRF101 Cortex M3 embedded ISM band radio and a bidirectional LabView GUI interface. Data is storied via LabVIEW or directly on board using a SD memory card.
