Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announced today a five-city SpeedWay® technical seminar series focused on data converters. Taught by technical specialists from Avnet and Texas Instruments (TI), these free, one-day classes provide engineers at all levels with a methodology to more easily navigate the entire data converter ecosystem. Taught by Avnet and TI field application engineers, the SpeedWays will cover the following:

- Tradeoffs and design considerations for microcontrollers: Learn to decipher when an internal data converter is enough.
- Precision data converters from TI: An overview of TI's extensive portfolio of SAR and delta-sigma ADCs, and digital-to-analog converters (DACs).
- Using TI's ADCPro™ to help solve data converter design problems: Learn about basic ADC evaluation test methods and how to select test equipment.
- Which is better: A 12-bit SAR ADC plus a PGA or a 16-bit converter? Discuss options for this difficult design decision with an arsenal of strategies.
