1. TI's new CC2541 Bluetooth low energy SoC Release summary: This release introduces TI's new CC2541 Bluetooth low energy SoC, aimed at sensor applications in consumer medical, sports and fitness, security, smart energy, entertainment, home automation and more. The release also touches on the associated CC2541EMK development kit, and introduces the Bluetooth low energy sensor development kit (CC2541DK-SENSOR) that will be demonstrated at CES. Latest ZigBee RF4CE remote control solution. Release summary: TI's new ZigBee RF4CE solution supports the upcoming ZigBee Input Device profile to enable mouse-like pointing functionality, keyboard and gesture- and touch-based input controls for consumer electronics. It includes the royalty-free RemoTI 1.3 protocol stack with sample application software, an ETSI-compliant and FCC-certified nano USB module, and an associated Advanced Remote Control development kit, all to be demonstrated at CES. The OMAP platform applications redefining the smart home experience. Categories addressed include big screen experiences, friends and family video chat, handy household applications. The comprehensive announcement leverages numerous on-site demos as proof points for OMAP's powerful benefits in everything from wireless display to handy cooking gesture controls. Several relationship benchmarks are also formally introduced, such as our work with streaming entertainment innovator Fanhattan and our second certification from Netflix. 4. Wireless introduces its OMAP platform augmented reality (AR) strategy. The announcement formalizes our agreement with the two AR industry leaders, metaio and Total Immersion. The mobile AR experiences resulting from metaio and TIMM optimizing on OMAP will help AR developers finally realize the eCommerce potential of such applications. The two companies are offering free SDKs for developers interested in developing on OMAP processors.
