Mouser Electronics, an authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, announced that once again it will be a major sponsor of National Engineers Week (E-Week), a five-day event with fun, engaging activities at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, designed to increase public awareness and appreciation of engineers and their work.

Mouser will sponsor major exhibits Feb. 24-28 at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Other activities celebrating National E-Week are planned at schools across the Fort Worth/Dallas area.

At the Museum, Mouser will host a range of engineering challenges and activities in its own company-branded Imaginer Studio, where Museum guests will participate in interactive experiences while learning how engineering affects everyday life. Entry to Engineers Week is included with paid admission to the Museum. It is Mouser’s goal to spark the imagination of future design engineers, young and old alike, and to demonstrate some of the latest technologies affecting the world of tomorrow. Mouser also will promote its new Empowering Innovation Together partnership with celebrity engineer Grant Imahara, of MythBusters fame. It’s all part of National E-Week, observed each year throughout the United States.

The experiences include the “Technology Take Apart,” which just like it sounds, will allow visitors to take apart simple electronics to reveal interesting insides. Another highlight will be the “Engineer Meet and Greet,” featuring engineers from various fields who will answer all your engineering questions. A special feature, Girls and Engineering Day, will be observed on February 28. “Developing the future technical workforce is one of the great challenges facing our country and our industry,” said Kevin Hess, Mouser Vice President of Technical Marketing. “We are excited by this opportunity to inspire the next generation of engineers through events like E-Week that promote and enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education programs. We believe it is programs such as this that will shape the innovators, inventors, and scientists that will create the future technological wonders.”

“We are grateful to Mouser Electronics for their continued sponsorship of Engineers Week at the Museum,” said Van A. Romans, President of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. “Their financial support helps bring this important national program to the children, teens, and families of Tarrant County. In addition, Mouser’s employee volunteers and donated electronic components add a unique and invaluable experience for our guests.”
