At the SPS IPC Drives International Conference & Exhibition, Moxa is showcasing their latest managed Ethernet switches designed for precise time synchronization of networks in real-time control applications. SPS IPC Drives is Europe's leading exhibition for electric automation. Moxa will display its industrial networking solutions, including wired and wireless remote automation, industrial Ethernet, serial connectivity, industrial computing, and IP surveillance, in booth #9-231.

"Moxa's Industrial Ethernet Solutions are tailor-made to unlock automation network convergence for demanding industrial applications," said Todd Desso, Strategic Business Manager for Moxa. "As a leader in factory automation, Moxa is looking forward to presenting at SPS IPC Drives its very latest Ethernet-centric products."

At the forefront of Moxa announcements at SPS IPC Drive will be EDS-405A-PTP five-port managed Ethernet switches featuring IEEE 1588v2 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) hardware time stamping, an innovation that ensures the most precise time synchronization of networks running the company's Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain topologies. Both topologies offer less than 20 ms recovery in networks with up to 250 switches.

Moxa EDS-405A-PTP switches support both IEEE 1588 Boundary Clock and Transparent Clock. While in Transparent Clock, the switches provide both End-to-End (2-step) and Peer-to-Peer (2-step) modes. They enable a high-precision time accuracy of less than 1 µs.

The switches support Modbus TCP, PROFINET RT, and EtherNet/IP for better SCADA integration. Other management functions, such as IGMP snooping, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN, QoS, RMON and relay warning, make network planning more flexible and easy.
