NI announced the Wireless Test System (WTS), a solution that dramatically lowers the cost of high-volume wireless manufacturing test for devices such as mobile phones, tablets, data cards and modules. As wireless test becomes increasingly complex due to megatrends, such as the loT, companies can confidently reduce test costs and multiply throughput on the production floor. Built on the PXI platform, the WTS couples NI Vector Signal Transceiver and multicore processing technologies to deliver industry-leading test speeds and the flexibility to engage in multi-standard, multi-DUT, and parallel test. The single-platform solution integrates easily into a manufacturing line with ready-to-run test sequences for devices that use chipsets from suppliers such as Qualcomm and Broadcom as well as integrated DUT and remote automation control.

In addition, NI announced several new additions to its data acquisition and embedded systems hardware platforms to help engineers tackle increasingly complex challenges in data acquisition and embedded monitoring and control and meet the evolving requirements of the loT:

NI’s CompactDAQ family of portable, rugged data acquisition hardware now includes two new CompactDAQ controllers featuring Intel Atom quad-core processing for advanced data-logging and embedded monitoring applications, and a new 14-slot USB 3.0 CompactDAQ chassis ideal for high-channel-count applications and high speed data transfer. The new 4-slot and 8-slot controllers can run Windows Embedded 7 or NI Linux Real-Time, feature 32 GB of storage and are fully compatible with LabVIEW 2015. The 14-slot expansion of the new chassis paired with USB 3.0 streaming capability allow users to meet their current data acquisition needs and scale over time without reducing transfer speed.

NI’s new product line of CompactRIO, FlexRIO, and Single-Board RIO controllers integrate the latest embedded technologies from Xilinx and Intel to deliver unparalleled performance and flexibility to help system designers and machine builders solve the most demanding control and monitoring challenges. The high-performance CompactRIO Controller delivers unrivaled performance and features a 1.91 GHz Intel Atom quad-core processor, a Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA, and four or eight slots for C Series I/O modules for high-performance control and monitoring in the harshest environments. The new controllers are all based on the open, flexible LabVIEW RIO architecture and fully compatible with LabVIEW 2015, LabVIEW FPGA, and NI Linux Real-Time.
