Nujira, a leader in Envelope Tracking (ET) technology, has announced its sponsorship of a student through the UK Electronics Skill Foundation (UKESF) program, demonstrating the company’s commitment to nurturing talent to support the future of the industry.

UKESF is aiming to increase the number of talented engineering graduates entering the electronics industry following a significant decline, 26% since 2002, in UK applicants for electronics degrees, which is threatening the future of the £78-billion UK electronics industry.

Through a network of partnerships with universities and companies in the electronics sector, UKESF connects employers with high-caliber students for scholarships offering bursaries and practical experience in the industry through mentoring and work placements. Scholarships, such as the one awarded by Nujira, are available to students studying electronic engineering at any of the 11 UKESF partner universities and run throughout the students’ degrees, offering long-term support.

Tim Haynes, CEO, Nujira commented: “There is an urgent need to create and maintain a large talent pool for the UK electronics sector’s future growth, and to address the threat of diminishing skills capability in the industry. UKESF is doing an outstanding job of promoting awareness of the electronics industry, and the wide range of rewarding career opportunities it provides, and we are proud to be supporting the initiative.

“We believe that UK electronics companies are at their best, most innovative and most competitive when they are intelligently applying smart design techniques to create new innovations. In order for this to continue we need to make sure we’re attracting and nurturing the UK’s best engineering talent.”
