TE Connectivity has brought fiber optic solutions to the cutting edge of connectivity for autosports

With the new high-current electrical systems on engines in Formula 1 and Le Mans cars, many teams have struggled with electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues. By understanding the relationship between 2014 engines and how they run higher current to the battery packs, TE Connectivity has brought fiber optic solutions to the cutting edge of connectivity for autosports once again, reducing the impact of EMI on engine systems.

In addition to the latest fiber optics, TE will feature other end-to-end solutions for high-performance connectivity, including the full range of DEUTSCH autosports products that offer design engineers modularity for easy integration, as well as advanced components for weight and space savings.

TE has also expanded the DEUTSCH ASDD range of connectors. This advanced interconnect packs 118 contacts in a standard size 18 autosport shell, enabling one of the most compact packaging options on today’s race vehicle.
