TMD has announced it will be exhibiting for the first time at the IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, which will take place in August in Denver, Colorado. The company will be highlighting its latest range of ultra high power travelling wave tube (TWT) amplifiers, which are now available with output powers well in excess of 10 kW. The lightweight units are designed for use in testing high intensity radiated fields (HIRF) in EMC applications, as well as in passive intermodulation (PIM) testing, scientific research and medicine. Outputs are as high as 40 kW for certain special pulsed models, with a frequency range from 1-40 GHz using a suite of amplifiers. TMD is a world leader in design innovation in this field, and these compact, rack mounted units benefit from being based on the company's rugged radar systems, sharing the same switched-mode power supply technology. EMC test laboratories already using these instrumentation amplifiers have generated 14 000 V/m, easily complying with the latest, most demanding RTCA/DO-160G test requirements for airborne equipment. As well as off-the-shelf models, TMD can customise the units to customers' own specifications. Visitors to the stand will have an opportunity to speak to Mike Farley, the new CEO of TMD's recently formed US subsidiary TMD Technologies LLC. The Baltimore based company will offer significant benefits to US customers, bringing local technical support, dealing with export compliance and handling classified interchanges. TMD can be found on Booth 233 at the 2013 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility from 5-9 August 2013 in Denver, Colorado, USA.
