Power Sources Manufacturers Association (PSMA) Energy Efficiency Committee is sponsoring an Industry Session at APEC 2015. The session, titled “Mission Critical Power Systems,” will cover topics including the application space where these systems are used and the different architectures that help ensure application availability. The APEC Industry Session (IS13) will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015, from 2:00-5:25 p.m. at the Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Featured at the session will be seven experts from industry, research and government, including Emerson, the PSMA Energy Efficiency Committee, Rex Hospital, Universal Electric Corp., Northrup Grumman, and Crane Aerospace. Designed to provide an overview of the current applications and issues surrounding mission critical systems, the presentations will help attendees identify potential opportunities so that their companies can participate in this important segment of technology.

The presentations are:
“Mission Critical Power – What and How”
“Hacking Can Make Critical Power ‘Go Critical’”
“Maximizing the Efficiency of Hospital Distribution Systems Through the Use of Advancing Technology and Design Creativity”
“Data Centers Modular / Prefab Construction: Speed, Reliability, Quality”
“380V dc Power for Data Centers & Micro-Grids”
“Emerging Mission Critical Space Power Distribution Technology and Products”
“Design Considerations for Flight Critical Power Systems”

Co-chairs of the session, Ed Herbert, Industry Consultant, and Dustin Becker, Emerson, stated: “This session will not only be very informative, it will provide an opportunity for attendees to interact with other professionals who are in the process of designing and using mission critical power systems.” They added: “We encourage people to register for APEC 2015, make plans to attend the Industry Session on Mission Critical Power Systems, and to consider participating in the other PSMA sponsored meetings during the week.”
