15W AC/DC Power Modules feature Widest Input Range

    05/29/2025

RECOM has again pushed the boundaries of AC/DC performance with a miniature15W part that operates over a wide input range of 18-264VAC or 18-375VDC.

The board-mount RAC15-K/WI is just 1.5” x 2” (52.5mm x 40mm) footprint with an industry-standard pinout or optionally flying wires, and provides a range of fully regulated output voltages from 5V to 54VDC. Particularly high operating efficiency enables a full rating of 15W output typically above 48VAC input and up to 60°C ambient, depending on output voltage variant. Between 18VAC and 48VAC, and at high ambient temperatures with convection cooling up to 85°C, useful power levels are still available.

The ultra-wide input range of the RAC15-K/WI does not compromise on performance; however, the Class II parts meet reinforced isolation standards according to UL/IEC/EN/CAN-CSA 62368-1 for audio/video and IT equipment and IEC/EN 60335-1 for household appliances. ‘Class B’ EMC levels are met along with eco-design requirements for standby and no-load losses. Outputs are classed ‘Limited Power Source’ and are fully protected against shorts and overvoltage while the AC input is rated for Over-Voltage Category III operation up to 3000m.

“These highly versatile AC/DCs suit applications where the input can vary widely or where it is advantageous to fit just one part to cover several nominal inputs” comments Michael Schrutka, MSc. AC/DC product manager of RECOM. “Along with our mechanically identical RAC15-K/480, just two 15W-rated RECOM parts can now cover nominal inputs between 18VAC and 480VAC”.

Parts include a three-year warranty. Samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorized distributors or directly from RECOM.
