ABB Integrates AI-Assisted Diagnostics into Remote Condition Monitoring for Emissions Analyzers

­ABB has launched the latest version of its Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) digital solution, designed to help industrial operators maintain the availability and compliance of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS).

Remote Condition Monitoring is now integrated with ABB’s My Measurement Assistant+ (MMA+) and Genix Copilot AI. Remote Condition Monitoring provides continuous analyzer-health monitoring and reporting, while My Measurement Assistant+ gives users centralized fleet-wide visibility and access to historical device information. While Genix Industrial DataOps provides conextual data  and intelligence foundation, Genix Copilot AI interprets analyzer-health data and reports, providing diagnostic guidance that helps operators identifypotential issues and determine appropriate next steps. Together, these capabilities are designed to help maintenance and operations teams respond more quickly to analyzer issues, reduce unplanned downtime and minimize the need for specialist site visits.

Continuous analyzer availability is critical for industries operating under stringent emissions regulations, including power generation, waste-to-energy, cement, metals, oil and gas, and chemicals. At the same time, skills shortages and increasingly complex emissionmonitoring requirements are placing additional pressure on maintenance and operations teams. RCM continuously monitors the health of the CEMS sytem sending automated scheduled reports, event triggered reports and on-demand health reports, supporting deviceavailability and record keeping for regulatory purposes.

Through MMA+, users can access a full fleet overview in one dashboard with device status and information, health reports and historical data in one place, while Genix Copilot interprets health data and provides diagnostic guidance in seven languages. This can helpoperators investigate potential root causes and determine appropriate next steps, with ABB experts available to provide remote support where further assistance is required.

RCM also supports compliance-related record keeping by automatically creating an evidence log of device health status. Reports can be securely stored on-premise or within MMA+, providing an accessible history of analyzer performance and events to support audits and regulatory reporting.
