    ABB unveils substation design software

    04/15/2014

ABB, a leading power and automation technology group, announced the release of Substation Explorer, a tool that allows customers to enter known parameters for their high voltage systems into a program which outputs multiple conceptual layouts and suggests the most suitable solution for the application.

The ABB Substation Explorer generates the single line diagrams, 3-Dimensional layouts and a high level Bill of Material for the various solutions. Simply submit a selected design and an ABB representative will contact the customer to discuss the project and help navigate the various options or provide a quick budget estimate.

“Some customers do not have much time to put together a bid package for budget proposals. They need a quick and efficient way to see what options they have for substation layouts,” said Harry Kaffenes, Vice President, ABB Power Systems Substations. “This is a web based tool that can be accessed anywhere. It asks ten basic design questions and selects a substation configuration that best matches the customer’s needs.”

Those interested may request access to the ABB Substation Explorer design software today by visiting and logging in with My ABB credentials.
