    Abracon launches a family of low-power bluetooth devices

    Abracon, a leading supplier of frequency control and magnetic components, extends its Bluetooth product portfolio with the feature-rich ABBTM-NVC series of Bluetooth modules. "Designed as total turnkey solutions, minimizing end user development costs, the ABBTM-NVC series of products offer both classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) solutions for a variety of data and audio applications," explains Syed Raza, Director of Engineering for Abracon. "These devices are FCC certified, RoHS compliant, and offer an embedded firmware stack, enabling easy integration and secure wireless capabilities in end user applications," continues Raza. The ABBTM-NVC-MDCS42A module, the largest in this series with dimensions of 25.8x13.4x2.2mm, has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a power supply range of 2.7V to 3.7V. It features Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, Class 2 specifications and supports SPP, HID and iAP Bluetooth profiles. Typical applications for ABBTM-NVC-MDCS42A include cable replacements, barcode and RFID scanners, measurement and monitoring systems, industrial sensors and controls, and medical devices. The ABBTM-NVC-MDCS56 module with dimensions of 23.24x11.93x2.05mm has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a power supply ranging from 2.7V to 3.6V. This module features Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, Class 2 specifications and supports A2DP, AVRCP, SPP, HFP and iAP Bluetooth profiles. Typical applications for ABBTM-NVC-MDCS56 include automobile hands free applications, high quality stereo headsets, Bluetooth speakers, VoIP handsets and MP3 players. The smallest in this series at 19.5x12.5x2.4mm with a power supply ranging from 1.8V to 3.6V and an operating temperature range of -30°C to +70°C, is the ABBTM-NVC-MDCS71 module. This module features Bluetooth v4.0 BLE, Single Mode specifications and supports Proximity, Find Me, Heart Rate and HID Bluetooth profiles. Typical applications for ABBTM-NVC-MDCS71 include sport and fitness sensors, smartphone accessories, medical and health sensors, key fobs, security tags, wireless keys, proximity sensors, and HID keyboards and mice.
