Admirals Bank, innovator of Solar Step Down financing and pioneer in the Renewable Energy Lending industry, recently participated in an initiative, called the Solarize Connecticut - Durham Project. This initiative resulted in solar panels being installed in over 100 Durham, CT homes, producing over 1.017 million watts of clean energy. The exclusive solar panel installer chosen by Durham, CT for this project referred customers who were interested in financing options to Admirals Bank*. As a result of these financing options, many homeowners were able to obtain the funds necessary to purchase their solar systems. Of the four towns that participated in Solarize Connecticut, Durham outshined the competition by installing solar systems on 117 homes. Admirals Bank is proud to have had the opportunity to work with Durham homeowners to provide financing and contribute to the success of this initiative. Ryan Wells, Director of Renewable Energy Lending at Admirals Bank commented, "It is imperative that homeowners understand the value of owning these solar systems as opposed to the lease or purchase power agreement [PPA] options. Our financing programs have proven to influence many homeowners' purchasing decisions in local communities, like Durham and on a national level." Based on the notable success of this campaign Admirals Bank announced its plans to participate in the 2013 Solarize Connecticut and Solarize Massachusetts initiatives.
