Amantys marks opening of China sales office

    06/24/2013

Power electronics specialist Amantys has made a statement of its global business intent with the opening of its first international sales office in Shanghai, China. The company will be promoting the full range of power switching products within the Amantys Power DriveTM family of IGBT Gate Drives for voltages of 1200V and above. These reach across a range of applications including wind and solar energy generation, locomotive traction and medium and high voltage industrial motor inverters, while the company also has potential in emerging opportunities in smart grid and HVDC transmission. On stand 523 at PCIM Asia, the company will demonstrate the development tools for Amantys Power InsightTM, a unique monitoring and data logging solution that delivers the first dashboard for power electronics switching and control. The company will also demonstrate the impact of this technology in a customer product, "keeping trains on the track" in a Portuguese locomotive remote monitoring system. "At Amantys we recognise the importance of China in the global market for power electronics and this has led us to establish our office in China, allowing us to build closer partnerships with the region's power electronics industry, which is critical to our long term strategy." commented Steve Evans, VP Marketing, Amantys. "We have a lot to offer the market in Asia and our products will improve the efficiency, reliability and performance of power products in market sectors such as railway traction, megawatt PV and wind energy." Thomas Shiekman, Amantys Regional Sales Manager for China, added, "The value of innovation is the benefit it delivers in a real system. At PCIM Asia, we'll be giving live demonstrations of how our products provide significant visibility of the switching process and are therefore helping to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and extend the life-time of rolling stock on Portuguese railways through the deployment of our products with EMEF."
