Arrow Electronics Adds Precision and Power Resistors from Isabellenhütte

Arrow Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with Isabellenhütte, a specialist developer and manufacturer of products based on electrical resistance and thermoelectric properties. Arrow will supply Isabellenhütte’s resistor line of products throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the companies will also work together on customised solutions.

Isabellenhütte is an independent, family-run business whose roots stretch back hundreds of years which today produces state-of-the-art high-tech products for future markets such as e-mobility smart grid and more. The company develops new materials and designs them into products that set global standards in the areas of current, voltage and measurement technology.

Arrow will initially offer the Isabellenhütte range of low-resistance precision and power resistors. These are applied in areas including the automotive industry – where they are used in engine control, injection systems, driver assistance and energy management systems. The precision and power resistors are also used in industrial and power electronics, aviation and aerospace, telecommunications and the medical sector.

Isabellenhütte’s ISA-PLAN® and ISA-WELD® technologies extend Arrow’s portfolio in the area of shunts (low ohmic resistors). With ISA-PLAN®, the precision resistor elements are etched from films of resistance alloys. Seven ISA-PLAN® SMD series are available in addition to conventional 2- and 4-terminal resistors, enabling a wide range of possible applications.

In contrast, ISA-WELD® uses solid electron beam-welded composite material made from two copper strips and a resistance alloy. This composite material can be adapted to almost any shape or application through a punching and bending process and delivers a high level of flexibility for application design.
