AEC-Q101 qualified parts provide impulse power dissipation up to 6000W; high reliability devices feature 175C, max.

Taiwan Semiconductor announces the introduction of the TLD5S/6S/8S Series of AEC-Q101 qualified high power unidirectional transient voltage surge suppressors (TVS). The devices, offered with ratings of 3.6 KW, 4.6 KW and 6.6 KW, are ideally suited for critical load dump applications designed to protect onboard electronic devices from high voltage surges emanating from the alternator should the battery become disconnected.

Offered in industry-standard DO-2018-AB packages, the three TLD Series are available with a total of 57 part numbers offering working standoff voltages from 10 to 43V to cover the full range of automotive battery voltages and industry-best clamping capability from 17.0 to 69.4V.

The TLD Series devices are fully qualified to AEC-Q101 standards, meetISO7637-2 / ISO16750-2 surge specifications and IEC 61000-4-2 (Level: 4) / ISO 10605 (Level: L4) electrostatic discharge specifications. The devices in the series with applicable standoff voltages also meet Japan’s JASO A-1 (14V) and JASO D-1 (27V) load dump requirements. All TLD Series devices are compliant with RoHS directive 2011/65/EU and in accordance to WEEE 2002/96/EC, are Halogen-free according to IEC 61249-2-21 and meet moisture sensitivity level 1, per J-STD-020. In addition, TSC offers custom testing to customers’ specifications.
