In stock at Powell Electronics, the supplier of connectors and more for high-rel applications including defence, aerospace and industrial, are the aircraft industry’s most advanced power distribution interconnects with high-current carrying capacity crown ring contacts and highly flexible TurboFlex cabling. The 972 series PowerLoad ecosystem from Glenair, with its connectors, cables and crown ring contacts ensures peak performance for the latest specification requirements (especially higher power and lighter weight) in high-current, high-voltage, and high-frequency commercial aircraft as well as emerging eVTOL platform applications.

The components from the 972 series PowerLoad ecosystem are designed for applications up to 2000 VAC / 1500 Hz, and from 150 – 800 Amps. The connectors feature a +230°C maximum operating temperature (stainless steel bodies and shells). TurboFlex rope lay power cables are optimized for PowerLoad connectors and wire gauges from 8 AWG to 4/0. Ultra-flexible cable configurations with ruggedized Duralectric or FEP jacketing are available. The low-resistance crown ring contact system delivers a low temperature rise under load. Additional features include a heavy-duty accessory interface and a patented wire sealing grommet and wire organizer for improved tape-wrapped wire sealing and ease of contact removal.
