Avnet Express Gives Americas Customers Faster Access to Authorized Factory Stock

    07/13/2012

Avnet Express, the e-Commerce engine for Avnet, Inc., has announced that customers visiting www.AvnetExpress.com now have enhanced visibility into authorized supplier factory stock. Now, not only can customers view the in-stock availability of Avnet's robust catalog of more than 5 million electronic component products, but also products in stock at the factories of a select group of suppliers -- helping design engineers make better buying decisions and making it easier to plan and manage production schedules. This offering builds upon Avnet's long-standing commitment to display and sell only factory-sourced products, eliminating the need to purchase from unauthorized sources. "By leveraging our strong supplier relationships, Avnet Express has given our customers the option to look beyond Avnet's vast in-stock catalog -- for large and small volume buys," said Beth Ely, senior vice president, Avnet Express. "We've created a virtual window allowing our customers to have an expanded view of the inventory available to them -- while continuing to provide products from a trusted, authorized source." The ability to view factory stock is currently available for Cooper Bussman, ebm-papst, Integrated Device Technologies (IDT), M/A-Com Technology Solutions, Maxim, National Semiconductor, Omron Electronics, Rochester Electronics, Stackpole and Texas Instruments (TI). Additional suppliers are scheduled to be added in the future. Avnet Express also offers parametric searching capabilities and the ability to upload a bill of materials (BOM) for easier sourcing of products and a consistent global platform of localized content. The site can be accessed in nine languages and 13 currencies. www.avnet.com
