    Avnet Memec and Microsemi Present Seminar Series in Americas on Power Management Design Techniques for High Availability Systems

    06/25/2012

    Today's telecom, data-com and storage systems are becoming increasingly complex. To help engineers make decisions in the design phase that will increase reliability in these, and other types of systems, Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq: MSCC) has teamed up with Avnet Memec, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), to provide technical training on the Microsemi MPM 4.0 power management solution. These free seminars will take place in multiple locations throughout the U.S. To register, visit www.em.avnet.com/MicrosemiSoCSeminars. "As designs that require power management proliferate, Avnet is ensuring that we are meeting our customers' needs by providing both cutting-edge technology and technical training to help get products to market faster," said Phil Sansone, senior vice president, Avnet Memec. "These technical sessions provide engineers with a well-rounded experience and fast, accessible content that will have a dramatic impact on the success of their designs." Avnet and Microsemi have created these seminars to teach design engineers to:

    • Gain a better understanding of power management techniques;
    • Manage a mix of up to 64 power rails and mixed analog and digital point-of-loads;
    • Add security to designs and reduce bill-of-material costs.
    Beginning on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, these technical seminars will take place in San Jose, Calif., San Diego, Calif., Minneapolis, Minn. and Dallas, Texas through August. Using the Microsemi MPM 4.0 power management solutions as the centerpiece, these four-hour technical trainings highlight the MPM 4.0 graphical user interface that simplifies the visualization of the power sequencing and margining that occurs in complex, high availability systems. The sessions will also provide a hands-on lab using digital monitor power management (DMPM) development tools, including the Microsemi SmartFusion® Evaluation Kit. www.microsemi.com www.em.avnet.com
