AVX Expands MLCC Product Portfolio to Include Low Profile, Fine Copper Termination Versions

    11/06/2010

AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its multilayer ceramic capacitor family to include low profile, fine copper termination (FCT) versions. Designated the UT Series, the utilization of FCTs ensure repeatable and flat performance. Available in the 0402 case size, the UT Series is available in heights as low as 0.15mm (0.006") and voltage ranges from 6V to 25V. The 0.15mm high Cu parts are ideal for the increasing demand in embedded applications. Ideal for smart cards, memory modules, high-density SIM cards, mobile phones, MP3 players, and embedded solutions, the UT Series is available in X5R dielectric for decoupling and filtering applications where height is limited. The UT Series complements the existing LT Series which includes sizes from 0201 to 1210 and thicknesses as low as 0.22mm (0.009") in the 0201 size. "To address the continuing demands from the industry for smaller components with increased functionality, AVX has developed the UT Series," said Tim Piver, product manager at AVX. "The addition of the UT Series MLCC allows customers to choose between a wide variety of terminations including tin/lead, tin, gold or copper, depending on the application requirements. Contact AVX for LT Series and UT Series pricing. Lead times are typically nine weeks. For more information, contact AVX by calling 864-967-9387; or on the Web at www.avx.com
