AVX's High Temperature CAN Bus Series Provides High Current and Energy Handling with Low Leakage

    10/06/2010

AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of passive components and interconnect solutions, has expanded its TransGuard® product family to include high temperature circuit protection devices designed specifically for harsh environment applications. Providing the industry's fasted response time to ESD strikes, the High Temperature CAN Bus Series offers high current and energy handling capabilities as well as advanced EMI/RFI attenuation in addition to low leakage characteristics at rated temperatures. The High Temperature CAN Bus Series is AEC Q200 qualified and represents the first offerings in a very extensive planned product group. "As a circuit protection leader, AVX continuously strives to meet market demands by enhancing and expanding our current product series as well as developing new products," said Sonja Brown, global product manager for circuit protection products at AVX. "The High Temperature CAN Bus Series is a cost effective solution that provides bi-directional transient voltage protection in the on-state and excellent EMI/RFI attenuation in the off-state. This allows designers the ability to combine the circuit protection and EMI/RFI attenuation function into a single highly reliable device." The ZnO based ceramic device provides sub 1ns turn on time, which clamps energy before peak. With an operating temperature up to 150°C, the High Temperature CAN Bus Series is ideal for harsh environment applications including automotive, off-highway vehicle, industrial, oil drilling, and more. Typical prices range from $0.018 - $0.082 for discrete product depending on volume. Typical prices range from $0.05 to $0.19 for multi-element product depending on volume.
