Baird impressed with early commercial traction of new power electronics company, Amantys

Amantys Ltd, the intelligent power switch company, announces the appointment of power industry business development expert Alan Baird to the Management Team as Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Alan has over 20 years' experience in electrical and electronic engineering, sales management and business development across the power electronics industry, successfully developing and delivering new business throughout his career. Alan held the position of Sales and Marketing Director at Turbo Power Systems from 2006 until 2011 and led the sales growth from £3M to over £10M. He also managed the re-branding and re-positioning of the Company from its origins as Turbo Genset and Intelligent Power Systems to become a globally recognised specialist motor, generator and power electronics company. At ABB Drives UK, Alan held the positions of Channel Manager and Sales Manager - OEM and Engineered drives from 2001 until 2006 and won strategic engagements in the low and medium voltage drive market with customers such as Air Products, CompAir and Rolls Royce. In his early career, Alan worked as a Drives Applications Engineer at GEC Industrial Controls in Kidsgrove, Sydney and Vancouver before moving into sales at Schneider Electric. At Emerson-Control Techniques, he held export sales and product marketing roles for their low voltage AC Drives which included defining initial market requirements, product specifications and the global launch of new products.
