Bare-element current-sense resistors enable lower PCB temperatures

    04/11/2013

Elevating the resistive element for maximum cooling, the BR Series of thru-hole current-sense resistor from Stackpole handles up to 5 watts with low PCB temperatures. This makes the BR Series ideal for power management in power supplies, small motors, industrial controls as well as audio applications, robotics, and portable power tools. The BR Series is available in 1, 3, and 5 watt power ratings, in values from 5 milliohms to 100 milliohms and in tolerances as low as 1%. Pricing varies with size, resistance value, and tolerance, and ranges from $0.16 to $0.38 for the most common values and sizes in full package quantities. Current lead-time is stock to 8 weeks.
