Bel Power Solutions’ open-frame, AC-DC power supply

Bel Power adds 550W open-frame supplies to ABC/MBC Series

    12/08/2016

Bel Power Solutions, a division of Bel Fuse, a premier manufacturer of power management devices, announced the expansion of Bel Power Solutions’ open-frame, AC-DC power supply portfolio to include the ABC550 and MBC550 Series of power supplies for industrial and medical applications. These units deliver up to 550 watts of high power in a compact 3 x 5 inch footprint and can be utilized in many conditions, including convection cooled (no fans) up to 150 watts, conduction cooling (heatsink surface) up to 250 watts or up to 550 watts of output power in forced air cooled environments.

Dennis Ackerman, President of Bel Power Solutions, said: “We are excited to launch this expansion of the ABC/MBC Series, which we believe solves a top concern of today’s power designer, who is increasingly challenged to incorporate more power into smaller spaces. In combination with conduction cooling for when a fan is simply not an option, the ABC/MBC Series provides engineers with true design flexibility from a proven leader in power protection.”

The power supplies accommodate the universal input voltage of 90-264 VAC/390 VDC, 47-63Hz, are available in 6 output voltages ranging from 12 V to 58 V, with an operating temperature range of -40° to +70° and efficiencies of up to 92%. RoHS compliant and CE Marked, the power supplies are safety agency certified per UL and NEMKO and meet the requirements of EN60950-1. They further meet the conducted and radiated EMI requirements of EN55022-B.

The ABC Series is ideal for use in space-constrained OEM, industrial, telecom and datacom applications. The MBC Series is for medical applications in which minimal power loss and easy thermal management are required such as lighting, IT equipment, wireless communications, renewable energy and HMI touch panels.
