Bourns CRN Series Thick Film Resistors Deliver Precise, Reliable Low-ohmic Current Sensing in Compact Package

    11/25/2025

Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced its Bourns® CRN Series Thick Film Resistors. Designed to deliver precise, reliable low-ohmic current sensing in a compact package, the CRN Series offers high power ratings up to 2 W to support today’s high-density power circuit designs. Constructed using a more cost-effective and lead-free metal thick-film paste instead of carbon, the CRN Series achieves RoHS* compliance without exemption, minimizing customer concerns over restricted substances.

These new resistors are available in a range of compact package sizes (from 0603 to 2512) and designers can select resistance values from 47 milliohms (mΩ) to 10 ohms (Ω). In addition, the series supports an operating temperature range of –55 °C to +155 °C, and has been qualified against IEC 60115-1 test requirements for overload, operational life, solder heat, solderability, and board flex. With its balance of low resistance values, high power density and environmental compliance, the CRN Series offers a robust, economical current sensing solution for a broad variety of electronic designs that include battery charge management, Battery Management Systems (BMS), low-voltage power supplies, industrial controllers, digital meters and current measurement applications.

Bourns® CRN Series Thick Film Resistors are available now through Bourns’ authorized distribution partners and are RoHS* compliant and lead-free. For more detailed product information, please go here.
