Bourns Expands Line of Riedon Industrial Shunt Resistors with Six New Model Types

Bourns, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announced the expansion of its line of Riedon™ Industrial Shunt Resistors with the release of six new model types. The new shunt resistors feature superior current handling capabilities that meet accurate current measurement requirements. Precise measurements are necessary in a wide range of applications including battery management systems (BMS), solar inverters, welding equipment, heat-treating equipment, battery chargers, power supplies, cathodic protection rectifiers, and marine and mobile accessories.

The new industrial shunt resistor models are available with panel and busbar mounting options. The Riedon™ Model RSN and RS Series shunts by Bourns are panel mount products with a current handling capacity from 1 A to 1200 A, resistance values from 0.0417 milliohms to 100 milliohms and tolerances from 0.25 percent to 1 percent. The Riedon™ Model RSH, RSI, RSJ, and RSW Series shunts by Bourns are designed for direct mounting to busbars with a current capacity from 5 A to 6000 A, resistance values from 0.025 milliohms to 10 milliohms and tolerances of 0.25 percent.

All Riedon™ industrial shunt resistors by Bourns are precision shunts that incorporate low-resistance Manganin™ as their resistive material. These new shunts also offer a wide operating temperature range of -40 °C to +80 °C, and feature a compact size and center-mounted voltage taps that streamline and simplify system implementations.

All six Riedon™ industrial shunt resistor by Bourns model types are available now, and are RoHS compliant. For additional information, please go here.
