What had been announced as a regular meeting turned into a genuine surprise at Factory 2 of the Lumberg Group in Cloppenburg: Attila Dalkılıç, Vice President Purchasing Electronics/Drives and Marko Krause, Head of Project Purchasing Electronics of the Brose Group in Coburg handed the Key Supplier Award 2016 for outstanding achievement to the managing director of the Lumberg Group, Ulrich Schmidt.
Lumberg has been working for the internationally-organized automotive supplier and its 60 production sites in 23 countries since early 2008. Also a family business, the Brose Group, whose sales reached six billion euros in 2015, employs around 24,000 people worldwide and is specialized in mechatronic components and systems for car doors, seats, and the body.
As a supplier of highly-complex mechatronic sub-assemblies, Lumberg is one of the key suppliers for the Brose Group - which has now been confirmed with this major award. “We worked hard for this award”, explains Ulrich Schmidt. “We implemented our latest Customized Project for Brose’s oil pump motor with integrated electronics at a sensational speed. Within an extremely short period of time from design approval by Brose to precision-specified and -built, highly-automated production line by our engineers, we demonstrated here what we as a specialist are capable of achieving with our high proprietary range of manufacture. Overall, we invested some € 8.5 million into the project which have flown in full into our largest factory in Cloppenburg.”
