    Cirrus Logic announces sale of Apex Precision Power business

    In its quarterly earnings announcement, Austin, TX-based Cirrus Logic announced that it is selling its Apex Precision Power business, based in Tucson, AZ. Cirrus acquired the Apex Precision Power unit in 2007. Known originally for its high-voltage hybrid circuits, the group has also developed high-voltage integrated-circuit technologies. According to a Cirrus spokesperson, the company is selling the high-voltage hybrid-circuit product line, technologies, and brand to a group of private investors. Cirrus will retain the high-voltage integrated-circuit products and technologies and will continue operations in Tucson. Cirrus will roll the high-voltage IC group into the Energy, Exploration, and Lighting division under Vice President and General Manager Tom Stein. Cirrus Logic
