Collicutt Energy Services, a leading provider of power generation systems in the West, is proud to announce its generator technician, Mark Michaelson, has won Electrical Generating Systems Association’s (EGSA) coveted Technician of the Year Award. In its sophomore year, this award showcases and honors the EGSA-certified generator technician who has gone above and beyond in the on-site power industry in 2015.
Recognizing that generator technicians have not had a formal awards program to showcase their talent and strengths until just last year, the TOYA shines a light on those unsung heroes who determinedly give their time and attention to the power generation systems and packaged engineered solutions industries. Technicians, like Michaelson, are responsible for servicing, maintaining, selling parts and providing customer assurance. In the industry, technical knowledge is respected and expected, but the ability to think and act under pressure is what separates the elite technicians from the rest.
“Mark is a recognizable leader in the power generation industry and has always strived to exceed the highest level of honesty, integrity, professionalism and accountability,” said Collicutt Energy Services Inc. president David Brown. “Mark has worked on a number of emergency situation projects including the failure of power at a 911 call center. When Mark arrived at the scene, he found that the generator had failed to start. Working through the night, Mark systematically diagnosed a series of compound failure modes and restored the unit to full operating capacity. With his elite skill, ability and perseverance, Mark was able to serve one of the biggest metropolises in the world and more importantly, repair the “lifeline” to many.”

Through the distribution agreement, Collicutt Energy broadened its geographical footprint, streamlined product and service delivery for customers, and is now poised to be on the forefront of innovation and advancements in the industry.
