Cost-Effective Tactile Switch from C&K Components Combines Rugged Sealing and Long Operating Life with Low-Profile Design

    08/27/2011

C&K Components, a leading international supplier of tact switches, toggle, rocker and pushbutton switches, and smart card interconnect devices, has designed a new cost-effective, low-profile tactile switch for a wide range of price-sensitive applications. Designated the KSE Series, the momentary-action tactile switch combines rugged sealing, reliability and a long-operating life with a new simplified and economical design. "Based on C&K's proven KSC Series, the new KSE Series tactile switch provides the dependability and ruggedness required for harsh environment conditions in a low-profile, economical package," said Eric Grange, product manager at C&K Components. The single pole single throw (SPST) KSE Series features mechanical parameters based on a force of 1.5 ± 0.5N, tactile travel of 0.3 +0.1/-0.2mm, and an operational life of 300,000 cycles. Featuring a maximum power rating of 1VA, maximum voltage rating of 32VDC and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, the IP 67-rated KSE Series is available in J bend & Gullwing terminations for SMT. The KSE Series is ideal for consumer, home appliance, smart metering, and telecommunication applications.
