CUI has introduced a new family of board-mount DC-DC converters housed in a rugged aluminum package. The internally potted and encapsulated design provides increased system reliability through added protection from environmental factors such as dust, moisture, shock, and vibration. Offered in industry standard quarter-brick and half-brick footprints, respectively, the 50-W VQE series and the 100-W VHE series reach efficiencies up to 93%, making them suitable for use in industrial, automation, transport, security, and telecom equipment where energy consumption is a concern. In battery-powered designs, the modules' ultra-wide 4:1 input range of 9 to 36 V DC or 18 to 75 V DC makes them well suited for equipment where a widely fluctuating voltage must be precisely regulated. The VQE and VHE series provide output voltage options of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24, or 48 V DC and an operating temperature range of ?40 to 60 °C at full load, derating to 50% load at 85 °C. Protections for over voltage, over current, short circuit, and over temperature are included. Additionally, all models provide remote on-off control, remote sense, and carry CE and UL/cUL 60950-1 safety certifications. The VQE and VHE series are available immediately through Digi-Key with prices starting at $85 per unit for 100 pieces. Please contact CUI for OEM pricing. Summary
