Digi-Key to carry TRINAMIC motion-control ICs worldwide

    01/28/2014

Digi-Key, an industry leader in electronic component selection, availability and delivery, announced a global distribution agreement with TRINAMIC, a world-class supplier of motor control solutions. Based in Hamburg, Germany, TRINAMIC provides integrated circuits and modules for motor and motion control to customers all over the world. The company’s application-driven approach and deep application understanding means customers do not need in-depth knowledge of motors or control circuitry. Consequently, the design phase is simplified, resulting in significant labor and cost savings in development as well as a reduction in the total cost of ownership.

TRINAMIC’s Motion Control Language (TMCL) makes it easy to develop motion control applications and allows for shorter development cycles and a short time to market. Customers benefit from the company’s extensive knowledge of motor physics and its library of intellectual property (IP), built over years of application knowledge. Product development at TRINAMIC focuses on meeting customer demands for miniaturization, efficiency, diagnostic support and protection, all of which ensure the reliability of the complete system.

“Customer demand for motor control solutions has seen an uptick in recent months,” according to Mark Zack, Digi-Key’s vice president for global semiconductor product. “TRINAMIC’s easy-to-use modules simplify the design process, speeding time to market and providing excellent value for our global customers. We look forward to adding these quality products to our line card.” Also offered is a selection of evaluation tools to support TRINAMIC’s products, cutting down the design process and speeding time to market.

“TRINAMIC is impressed by Digi-Key’s meticulous service culture, from prototype delivery to production fulfillment. As motion control technologies increasingly proliferate consumer, industrial and medical applications, we expect that our collaborative support for design engineers will help accelerate market growth,” said Michael Randt, TRINAMIC’s Founder and CEO. “The entire TRINAMIC team is committed to leveraging the full potential of our exciting, new partnership.”
