Diodes Zetex Semiconductors, the UK subsidiary of Diodes Incorporated has won the Climate Change Opportunity Award 2010 for the North West of England at the EEF's annual Future Manufacturing Awards. The company was presented with the award at a ceremony held recently at the prestigious Lowry Hotel, Manchester, UK. The climate change award category, sponsored by British Gas Business, invites the UK manufacturing community to demonstrate business initiatives that developed markets for products that helped customers to significantly reduce carbon emissions. Diodes won the award in recognition of its activity in LED lighting driver technology, enabling lighting manufacturers to replace power hungry incandescent bulbs with high reliability low power LEDs in a range of consumer and automotive applications. Kirsten Motyl, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Manager at Diodes said, "Diodes is using its expertise in power management to create LED lighting drivers capable of reducing power consumption from 100's of Watts to 10's of Watts.
