Elma Electronic expands footprint with EKF Elektronik

    12/23/2016

Elma Electronic announced it has added EKF Elektronik, a premier designer of boards based on 3U CompactPCI Serial and PMC/XMC mezzanine standards, to its partner ecosystem. EKF brings 40 years of technical expertise in modular industrial computing to Elma’s portfolio of building blocks for embedded system solutions.

Engineers designing industrial applications will benefit from the addition of EKF’s rich set of standards-based I/O products to Elma’s portfolio. By extending its partner network, Elma can now provide enhanced embedded integration to industrial system designers.

Wolfgang Wiest, channel manager for EKF, noted, “With the growing use of sophisticated systems in industrial applications, an increased range of I/O options will provide added flexibility to meet unique requirements. This partnership will broaden the use of CompactPCI Serial products in North America as well as the breadth of I/O solutions available for industrial applications.”

The CompactPCI Serial (PICMG S.0) specification supports higher bandwidth processors and interfaces than its predecessor, CompactPCI (PICMG 2.0). EKF’s I/O and high performance 3U CPU boards enable smaller, modular system implementations based on an accepted industry standard.

A better performance versus cost ratio makes EKF’s products a value-oriented alternative that meets the industrial market’s expectations for higher performance in today’s machine control, automation, vision systems and railway computing systems.

Elma will act as both value added re-seller and integration partner for EKF’s 3U CompactPCI Serial CPUs and I/O embedded computing products in the Americas.

Scott Killian, sales manager of industrial systems for Elma, said, “Adding EKF to our partner ecosystem underscores our commitment to offer high quality, innovative solutions to our industrial customers, leveraging Elma’s strong integration engineering talents and production capabilities as well as expansive partner network.”
