Eltek chosen by Alstom Grid for HVDC substations in Sweden

    05/16/2013

Eltek, a leader in high-efficiency power systems for telecommunications, industrial applications and renewable energy projects today announced it has been selected by Alstom Grid, a global supplier of power generation, transmission and distribution grid solutions, to provide the power supplies for high-voltage direct current (HVDC) substations in Sweden. The announcement was made today at the Elfack2013 exhibition, 13-17 May, where Eltek will be demonstrating its products in Stand A02:06. Alstom Grid has ordered Eltek chargers, inverters and batteries intended for the South West Link project conducted by Svenska Kraftnät, the Swedish energy utility. The 1,440 Megawatt South-West Link project will connect Barkeryd in central Sweden to Hurva in southern Sweden using HVDC technology. Eltek will ship Flatpack2 High Efficiency state-of-the-art rectifiers and DC/DC converters, INV222 inverters and associated batteries for stations in both Barkeryd and Hurva. "Our contract with Alstom Grid is another example of Eltek's expertise in this field," said Lars Dousa, Eltek Executive Vice President Industrial. "Although industry competition can be quite intense, Eltek wins these contracts because its products are sought after for their quality, high efficiency and reliability." This past January, Eltek announced its selection by Alstom to provide power solutions with modular rectifiers, DC/DC converters and inverters for the Anneberg substation in Stockholm. "We look forward to working once again with Alstom Grid, a company that has become a trusted business partner," said Peter Larnemark, Managing Director, Eltek Sweden. "I'm excited that Alstom Grid has chosen us again for a project that is so vital to the Swedish national grid." Eltek
