Eltek announced the signing of a frame agreement for hybrid power solutions with Caterpillar Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of high-speed diesel generator sets and engines. The contract involves the design and supply of high-efficiency hybrid power solutions, combining an optimal generator operation with renewable energy, typically for remote telecom sites. Caterpillar is a leading supplier of power systems to the telecommunications industry. Within this industry, hybrid solutions are identified as having high growth potential especially in Africa and other developing regions. "With Caterpillar's extensive distribution network and local presence, the frame agreement enables us to expand our footprint. It also demonstrates the appreciation and demand for our high efficiency products," said Bertrand Yeurc'h, Global Account Manager for Caterpillar at Eltek. Eltek boasts industry-leading power conversion efficiency and has a proven record with more than 600,000 high-efficiency power modules in the field. Given the enormous amounts of diesel energy consumed by poor and off-grid sites every day, efficiency in all links in the chain is crucial to minimize operational expenses.
