ON Semiconductor will demonstrate its latest product innovations - designed to empower customers' next generation energy efficient solutions for automotive, portable, industrial and lighting applications - at this year's Electronica exhibition in Munich, Germany, November 9-12. ON Semiconductor's automotive area will address the company's latest solutions for LED vehicle lighting (front, rear and interior), fuel efficiency and sensing (for gasoline, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles) and infotainment power delivery and connectivity. Demonstrations will clearly show the benefits of the company's semiconductor solutions in working products. Company experts will also be available to discuss custom automotive ASICs for the vehicle market. The industrial and lighting area will include live interactive motor control demonstrations utilising ON Semiconductor's single chip micro-stepping motor drivers that integrate a position controller and built-in control / diagnostic interface. The company's innovative semiconductor solutions for solid state lighting and the emerging and rapid growth areas of smart grid / E-metering and clean energy will also be on display with technical experts available to discuss applications. In the portable consumer area, where low power, efficiency, and size are especially important aspects of customers' new product designs, ON Semiconductor will exhibit a selection of its fully integrated, high efficiency, small form factor devices that support lighting, audio and power management in the rapidly growing battery powered portable equipment sector. Evolution continues Since the last electronica conference held in 2008, ON Semiconductor has continued to successfully evolve into a premier supplier of high performance silicon solutions for energy efficient electronics. Today the company supports more than 10,000 customers worldwide with a portfolio of more than 14,000 products spanning standard devices to fully custom ASICs. The company continues to develop and grow its global Solutions Engineering Centers (SECs) - including its European Automotive SEC - to help customers improve time-to-market for advanced electronics systems. By leveraging its organic product development and completing a series of strategic acquisitions, ON Semiconductor now delivers advanced silicon solutions that address its customers' increasingly complex design requirements. The company's recent acquisitions include: California Micro Devices and Sound Design Technologies in 2010, PulseCore Semiconductor in 2009, Catalyst Semiconductor and AMI Semiconductor in 2008, and the pending acquisition of SANYO Semiconductor that was announced in July 2010. "Upon completion of the pending acquisition of SANYO Semiconductor, ON Semiconductor expects to become a company with annualised revenue of approximately $3.5 billion, a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal technologies, and one of the 20 largest semiconductor companies in the world," said Bob Mahoney, ON Semiconductor executive vice president of Global Sales and Marketing. "Our enhanced product portfolio, the optimisation of our global manufacturing footprint, and the positive impact of our SECs and field applications engineering team have helped us gain a deeper technical understanding of our customers' products and foster the collaboration necessary to accelerate the development of next generation advanced electronics systems." ON Semiconductor executives and product solutions experts plan to meet with customers, the media and industry analysts at Electronica 2010 to discuss how the company provides the solutions required for customers to more easily and more effectively design energy efficient electronic products. Forum presentations In addition to meeting with ON Semiconductor's technical and applications experts at the company's stand at Electronica, visitors are invited to attend forum presentations by ON Semiconductor's technical staff.
