The Energy Institute (EI)'s annual industry awards competition is now open and calls for entries from individuals and companies worldwide. The EI Awards acknowledge the very best in the global energy industry, from across all sectors and disciplines, no matter how large or small your organisation or where you are based in the world. The competition is an opportunity to celebrate your successes, achieve recognition amongst your industry peers and highlight the valued contribution the energy sector makes to wider society.

The award categories cover Communication, Community Initiative, Energy Excellence, Environment, Individual Achievement, Innovation, Safety and Technology. New this year is the EI’s Young Energy Professional of the Year award. This category is open to those in the first 10 years of their career.
Steven Walker, Head of Strategic Intervention, Health & Safety Executive – Energy Division, has been on the EI Awards judging panel for the last three years. He says, ‘The Energy Institute Awards has very broad coverage. It encompasses all sectors in the industry, in the UK and globally. A lot of the awards don’t just go to big companies but smaller companies as well including start-ups and others working in very tough environments. Winning an award is a reward for your achievement. It should inspire you and your colleagues to know that what you’re doing is appreciated by others.’

Now in its 15th year, the EI Awards present an ideal platform to showcase your work to the wider energy community. The deadline for entries for this year’s competition is Friday, 27 June 2014.
The winners will be announced at a dinner and awards ceremony in London on 13 November.
