ePumps.com is honored to announce their role in SpaceX’s upcoming Artemis I mission.
The mobile launch pad for the upcoming Artemis I mission, called Pad 39B, was the site of a recent test launch in preparation for the mission to the lunar surface. Part of the test involved the use of three Berkeley B3ZPLS 50 H.P. B66847S 50 horsepower pumps, which were provided by ePumps.
SpaceX has to prepare for the extreme stress put on the launch pad during launch. Nick Moss, Deputy Project Manager for the launchpad explained that an SLS rocket will be utilized to launch the vessel into space.
“SLS will create about 176 decibles at liftoff, which is significantly louder than a jetliner. The sheets of water created by the flow will curb that sound by knocking it down a few decibles,” said Moss.
The use of ePump pumps by the SpaceX program shows that ePumps delivers on their promise to provide the right pump for a varied number of applications. ePumps is proud to work with SpaceX and all of their other customers to provide the highest quality water pump for the job.
