ESD Protection Products Include Ultra-Low Capacitance in a Miniature 0201 Package

    03/14/2018

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Bourns, Inc. announced the expansion of its leading line of ESD protection products. The company's new Model CG0201MLC ChipGuard device delivers ultra-low capacitance (0.2 pF) in a miniature 0201 package. These features meet ongoing performance and small footprint requirements in space-constrained applications such as wearables, handheld devices, headphones, tablets and mobile phones.

Bourns designed its latest ChipGuard device to protect sensitive electronics against electrostatic discharge (ESD) by meeting the IEC 61000-4-2, Level 4 (±8 kV contact/±15 kV air discharge) standard. The Bourns Model CG0201MLC ChipGuard device provides fast response of less than one nanosecond to ESD strikes. It also offers bidirectional protection with low clamping voltage, low leakage current and wide operating temperature range.

As a pricing reference, Model CG0201MLC is priced at $0.04 in 15,000-piece quantities. It is available now and is RoHS compliant. For more detailed product information, please visit: www.bourns.com/products/circuit-protection/chipguard-esd-suppressors.
