Military-Grade High-Energy Extended Pulse TVS Devices Also Protect Against Long Duration Switching Transient Threats in Generators, Base Stations, and More

ProTek Devices has introduced a high-energy extended pulse transient voltage suppressor module ideal for heavy duty remote DC power supply, base station and microwave protection, military-grade power bus, and other similar circuit protection applications.

The two modules from the company are the unidirectional PNH1275 and bi-directional PNH1275B.  Generally, they are high power TVS devices designed to provide protection against long duration switching transient threats, like in heavy duty motors, generators, or where DC power is being switched on and off at frequent intervals.

These new ProTek Devices modules are compliant with the standards MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-1275E SEC 5.3.3.2, CE, and RTCA DO-160G. They are also compliant with IEC standards 61000-4-5 (surge): 20kA, 8/20 microseconds level 3 (LineGnd) and level 4(line-line). They boast 45,000 watts peak pulse power per line (typical = 1ms). They also feature high average (DC) power dissipation high heat dissipation capability. Each device is 100 percent tested.

Mechanical Details and Availability Information

ProTek Devices’ PNH1275 and PNH1275Bis have an approximate weight of just 65 grams. Other mechanical and packaging characteristics include operating and storage temperatures of -55 to 150 degrees Celsius.

These modules are available with custom pricing based on a per-order basis.

ProTek Devices’ components are used worldwide in a variety of applications to guard against various electrical transients that can damage electronics. This includes in aerospace subsystems, automotive subsystems, computing interfaces, consumer electronics, industrial and instrumentation equipment, medical devices, military subsystems, and in networking and communications equipment.
