FCI Introduces RJ45 1x8 Modular Jack for GPON Systems

    01/21/2011

FCI, a leading developer of connectors and interconnect systems, is expanding its modular jack product line with the RJ45 1 stack, 8 port shield connector with LED. Designed for Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) systems, the modular jack is ideal for broadband switches, hubs, routers, servers and telecommunication applications. With RJ45 1x8 installed, GPON device can offer a more bandwidth-efficient protocol for data-centric services. GPON, already deployed by many of the world's largest Tier 1 telecommunications carriers, has quickly established itself as the worldwide standard for delivering voice, data and video. Among other benefits, GPON provides an enormous amount of bandwidth (2.5Gb/s downstream and 1.25Gb/s upstream) over a single strand of glass. FCI's 1x8 Modular Jack could be designed into systems employing GPON 2U/1U MDU (Multiple Dwelling Unit) rack for customer line cards I/O. FCI's RJ45 1 stack, 8-port shield connector with LED is available in a dip modular jack. It provides a low profile, durability rated at 1,000 cycles, and operating temperatures from 0°C to 70°C. Designed to GS-22-008 and UL94V-0 specifications and RoHS-compliant, the modular jacks employ a shield shell for EMI protection. The RJ45 connectors come in plating options including G/F, 6u", 15u", 30u" and 50u' gold plating and also feature optional LED colors. LED applications include fiber optic data transmission and ease of modulation allows wide communication bandwidth with minimal noise, resulting in high speed and accuracy with long life providing signal identification. FCI promoted P/N is 10113616-01231LF.
