New fixed resistors use advanced thick film on ceramic technology and are offered in a compact TO-247 package

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Bourns, Inc. announced a new AEC-Q200-compliant, high-power thick film resistor series. The Bourns Model PWR247T-100 Series is offered in a compact TO-247 package. Engineered with a thick film resistive element on a white alumina ceramic substrate, the latest high-power resistors from Bourns deliver low inductance advantages. This element enables heat sink contact that is electrically isolated from the resistive element making the device able to absorb power up to 100 watts when properly mounted to a heat sink.

The radial-leaded Model PWR247T-100 features a through-hole mount, and provides a wide resistance value range from 50 milliohms to 1 megohm. The series also has a high-power rating and is compatible with typical lead-free solder reflow temperatures. The new resistors are available in 1 percent and 5 percent tolerance options. These features and benefits make Bourns' new high power thick film resistors ideal for handling current limiting, current measurement and capacitor discharge functions required in a variety of industrial and telecom applications such as test and measurement equipment, motor drivers, rectifiers and power supplies.

As a pricing reference, Model PWR247T-100-J 5 percent is priced at $4.91 in quantities of 500 pieces, and the Model PWR247T-100-F 1 percent is priced at $5.17 in quantities of 500 pieces. The PWR247T-100 series is available now, and is RoHS* compliant and halogen free**. For additional information, please visit: www.bourns.com/products/fixed-resistors/high-power-resistors.
