Menlo Microsystems, Inc. announced the MM5627, the first switch in its category to combine 80 Gbps performance with high configurability, integrated DP3T logic, and fully integrated on-chip components. Designed for high-speed test and validation of AI GPUs, CPUs, and advanced semiconductor ICs, the MM5627 enables customers to route, loopback, and switch signals in ways previously impossible, accelerating validation cycles, improving signal fidelity, and simplifying test board design for large-scale automated environments. The MM5627 will make its first public appearance on Booth 322 at DesignCon 2026, taking place at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, CA, from February 24–26.
Part of Menlo Micro’s MM562x switch series, the MM5627 leverages Ideal Switch® technology and a compact System-in-Package (SiP) design that integrates a charge pump, high-voltage driver, and on-die loopback circuitry. This fully integrated architecture enhances signal integrity, reduces latency, and simplifies test board design, saving space and lowering system complexity — critical for large-scale automated test environments.
The MM5627 delivers 80 Gbps differential signaling with advanced DP3T switching and 128 distinct control states for precise differential pair management. It offers a 20 GHz bandwidth and is rated for more than three billion switching cycles, ensuring robust performance in high-volume testing environments. Control is provided exclusively via SPI interface, offering flexible and precise integration with automated test systems. These combined traits — speed, configurability, DP3T logic, and full integration — define the MM5627 as first in its specific product category, establishing a new benchmark for high-speed digital testing.
Engineers and test equipment manufacturers benefit from the MM5627 across multiple dimensions. It supports high-throughput validation, enabling rapid testing of next-generation GPUs, CPUs, and ICs before deployment in mission-critical infrastructure such as AI data centers. Its flexible routing capabilities allow sophisticated test matrices to be configured with ease, while the integrated design simplifies boards, saves space, and lowers cost.
“The introduction of the MM5627 affirms our leadership in high-speed switching technology,” said Russ Garcia, CEO of Menlo Micro. “By combining 80 Gbps performance with high configurability, integrated DP3T logic, and a fully integrated SiP, the MM5627 gives customers the tools they need to validate next-generation AI and semiconductor platforms efficiently and reliably, supporting deployment in mission-critical AI data centers and infrastructure.”
The MM5627 builds on Menlo Micro’s series of industry firsts, following a trajectory from 40 Gbps switches to 64 Gbps devices, and now to the highly configurable 80 Gbps MM562x family. By extending the Ideal Switch® platform deeper into PCIe Gen6, SerDes, and advanced automated test equipment ecosystems, the MM5627 overcomes the bottlenecks created by mechanical relays and traditional solid-state switches, providing a step-change in validation throughput, routing flexibility, and signal fidelity.
With the MM5627, Menlo Micro is not just advancing a product line, it is transforming the high-speed switching category, enabling customers to bring next-generation AI and semiconductor infrastructure from design to deployment more quickly, reliably, and at scale.
