FLUX GmbH Launches IND-MAX DUAL Encoder for Safety-Critical Applications

FLUX GmbH (FLUX), a high-precision encoder company, has announced the launch of the IND-MAX DUAL, the latest addition to its IND-MAX encoder range, engineered for applications requiring redundant position feedback and high operational reliability.

The IND-MAX DUAL is an inductive angle encoder that integrates two fully independent encoder systems with no shared sensing or electronics within a single compact housing, allowing machine builders and system designers to implement redundant feedback architectures while reducing installation space and mechanical complexity compared with using two separate encoders.

The IND-MAX DUAL is available in outer diameters from 125 mm to 300 mm, and is designed for applications where independent, redundant absolute position feedback is essential, including surgical robotics, aerospace systems, autonomous platforms, and defense technologies.

Like all encoders in the IND-MAX range, the IND-MAX DUAL combines a compact, low-profile design with a large bore and resolutions of up to 23 bits. Its robust housing and wide operating temperature range support reliable operation in harsh, high-shock, and space-constrained environments.

“The IND-MAX series has proven its reliability in demanding environments across a wide range of industries,” said Paul Tutzu, Managing Director at FLUX GmbH. “With the new DUAL variant, we are expanding the range to offer two independent encoder systems in one compact housing, addressing the demand for redundant position feedback.”
