DC/DC Converters for Railway, Transportation, Airborne and Military applications

Gaia Converter releases family of ultra wide input converters target rail, trans and mil/aero apps

    12/09/2016

Gaia Converter released a new family of ultra wide input voltage range DC/DC Converters targeting Railway, Transportation, Airborne and Military applications.

Uniquely wide, the MGDDI-06 Series 12-160V input voltage range is ideal to cover all typical battery/bus voltages at once (24V, 28V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V, 110V, 125V) with the same device, including transients. This unique performance is achieved thanks to Gaia's proprietary switching techniques also allowing to keep efficiency as high as 90%.

With 2 isolated outputs (for parallel, serial or symmetrical operation) of 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V, they can cover a wide variety of needs such as single 5 to 48V output, +&- 15V or 2x24V outputs (3W each) for example.
Packaged in the low profile 0.33" and a 1”x0.75” housing, the MGDDI-06 Series have a wide temperature range of -40°C to +100°C and are potted to fit rugged environmental conditions.

The units are full featured and protected with zero to full load regulation, Trim & On/Off capability, adjustable UVLO, soft start, embedded EMI filter as well as over-current and over-temperature protection.

Complying with Mil-Std-704, 1275, DO-160, EN50155/55022 or equivalent standard becomes straightforward thanks to such wide input voltage range and the use of fixed switching frequency with embedded LC filter. Designed for rugged applications, the MGDDI-06 series do not use optocouplers in the feedback loop.
