GLF Integrated Power, Inc., an emerging leader in efficient power switch technology, introduces the GLF4033, a new power multiplexer IC with input source selection and integrated protection features in a compact (2mm x 3mm) QFN-13L package. Each channel of the GLF4033 power MUX provides 4A continuous current-handling capability. Its wide input voltage range (3V-13V) can adapt to the voltage requirements of most small and medium-sized multi-power devices. As a result, the GLF4033 power MUX can significantly increase battery life in power systems with backup power, communication/network systems, security and tracking systems (e.g., cameras, small drones), and other applications that require stable, safer and more efficient power conversion management.
The GLF4033 power MUX, the latest device in GLF’s IQSmart™ family of load switch IC technology, leverages years of design expertise to provide best-in-class, ultra-low-leakage-current ICs. Designed with a flexible physical input selection mode through the S1 and S2 logic control pins, the GLF4033 allows designers to conveniently select between the device’s VIN1 and VIN2, or disable both switches entirely, using straightforward peripheral and logic configurations. The two sets of internal power control switches, which do not interfere with each other, can ultimately connect to the same power output. This enables smooth switching between two different power sources without causing power interruptions. Additionally, the device adopts advanced cross-conduction protection to actively prevent current flow between input sources, therefore maintaining isolation regardless of which power supply is active. This makes the GLF4033 power MUX ideal for power systems that require internal backup power.
“Leveraging GLF’s years of accumulated power multiplexer IC design expertise, our new GLF4033 power MUX can help devices better adapt to multiple power supply scenarios,” said Eileen Ni Sun, the president and founder of GLF. “A high-performance power MUX must increase battery life while also maintaining stable power management. By integrating overvoltage, overheating and reverse current protection functions, and by streamlining peripheral circuits and reducing the overall device size, the GLF4033 power MUX successfully completes these tasks.”
