HEITEC presents its latest solutions at SPS IPC Drives 2014



The trend towards greater complexity and flexibility, decentralized production systems, convergence, and not least the "Internet of things" require new approaches and intelligent communication in the production area. At SPS IPC Drives, Europe's leading exhibition for electric automation (Nuremberg, 25-27.11.2014, Hall 6 / Stand 330), HEITEC shows the latest solutions for this strongly changing "world of production" which make production processes easier, more efficient and more cost-effective. Focal points at the fair are virtual engineering, M2M communication and intuitive user interfaces, industrial image processing and embedded systems.

Virtual Engineering 

On the way to the "digital factory" HEITEC supports customers in their effective production planning with virtual engineering for equipment, material handling, robotic applications, software qualification and much more. Simulation tools which are tailored to the respective customer requirements enable faster and more cost-effective automation steps with minimized risk from conception to implementation.

M2M Communication and Intuitive User Interfaces

The ease of use of modern flexible manufacturing lines via "Plug and Play" data processing is at the forefront of HEITEC’s customized solutions including innovative frameworks. This is underlined by the demo of a user-friendly line cockpit. The web-based application visualizes process data of a modular production line. Based on a M2M messaging protocol and a generic data model, its software architecture allows for data sources such as PLC computers to describe their own data and transfer them to a repository. Users can easily select relevant data by drag-and-drop from the existing data pool in order to configure the information cockpit. Software architecture and control software continue to work without difficulty when manufacturing modules are exchanged.

Industrial Image Processing

Industrial image processing which is integrated in the production lines can accomplish a 100% non-contact inspection of manufactured products and is now able to perform high-precision measurements in the micrometer range at high clock rates. For these very demanding image processing systems HEITEC develops special hardware solutions and upon request, seamlessly integrates them in the assembly. The systems are expandable at any time and significantly contribute to increased efficiency and quality as well as lower production costs.

Embedded Systems 

For embedded systems in automation HEITEC as electronics service provider offers the complete scope of services from development to production, qualification and service to complete product life cycle management. The services include individual components, modules, devices and systems, but also complete solutions including cases, hardware and software. Customers can purchase individual services as well as complete packages based on standards and customer-specific requirements and a combination of both. As a system example, HEITEC shows a new CompactPCI Serial product line available with Ethernet Star or Full Mesh backplane technology in scalable versions - an ideal case and system platform for applications in industrial environments.
